For owner-operators leaving a lease-on, and new carriers with 1 to 5 trucks

Get your own authority. File it yourself, with a specialist beside you.

FMCSA registration now runs through Motus, and you verify your own identity there — so nobody can honestly file it for you. A FreightUno specialist walks every step with you, checks each document before it counts, and is on the call while you file. You keep every login.

$350 flat, plus FMCSA's filing fee at cost. Never a percentage.

Eight steps, from intake to your first quarter

A step closes only when its proof is uploaded and your specialist has checked it. One page shows where you stand the whole way, and you both write to each other on it.

  1. Step 1

    Intake and eligibility

    You

A short form: your type of business, what you'll haul, whether you'll cross state lines, and your base state.

  2. Step 2

    Entity readiness

    You

Your business papers, your EIN letter and a business bank account. Upload them on your page; your specialist checks each one.

  3. Step 3

    Setup fee

    You

One payment: the $350 service fee and FMCSA's filing fee, each on its own line of the same receipt. Nothing is charged before this step.

  4. Step 4

    Pre-filing review call

    Your specialist

Before you open Motus, we go through your documents and the application together, so nothing surprises you on filing day.

  5. Step 5

    Motus filing, with live guidance

    Together

You sign in to Motus, verify your identity and file — with your specialist on the call. You come out with your USDOT number.

  6. Step 6

    Post-filing registrations

    Together

Process agent, insurance filing, UCR and a drug and alcohol consortium. We explain what each one is for and check every confirmation. You choose the providers and pay them directly.

  7. Step 7

    Authority activation

    Your specialist

We watch FMCSA's records until your authority shows active, and you get an email the day it does.

  8. Step 8

    Day-1 compliance pack

    Your specialist

Your first deadlines go on a calendar in FreightUno, and your fuel-tax (IFTA) tracking starts from your activation date.

What you can count on

These are rules the service is built on, not slogans. The app enforces them.

A flat fee. Never a percentage.
$350 for the service. FreightUno never takes a cut of your loads, now or later.
Government fees at cost.
FMCSA's filing fee is passed through at exactly what FMCSA charges, on its own line. Insurance, the process agent and the consortium you pay to the provider yourself.
Your logins stay yours.
You create your Motus and FMCSA accounts and keep the passwords. We never ask for them and never store them.
Take everything with you.
Every document, message, payment and date downloads as one zip file, any time. Leaving costs nothing and loses nothing.
Referral fees in the open.
If we ever point you to a provider and get paid for it, we tell you before you choose.

Straight answers

Will you file my application for me?

No, and that's on purpose. In Motus you verify your own identity and submit your own application. Your specialist has checked everything before you start and is on the call while you do it.

What does it cost in total?

$350 for the service plus FMCSA's filing fee at cost, paid together at step 3. Insurance, a process agent, UCR and a consortium are paid to those providers directly. We show you what each one is for and never mark them up.

Do you keep my FMCSA login?

Never. You create your accounts and keep the passwords. FreightUno never asks for them.

How long does it take?

Most of the wait is on FMCSA and your insurance filing, not on paperwork. Your page shows every step and where it stands, and your specialist tells you what is waiting on whom.

I already have a USDOT number. Can you still help?

Tell us on the intake form. Your specialist reviews what is already on file with you before anything new is filed.

Do I have to use FreightUno afterwards?

No. When your authority is active, your calendar and fuel-tax tracking are set up, and you can stay on FreightUno's back office if you want to. Either way, your records download as a zip any time.

Is FreightUno part of FMCSA?

No. FreightUno is not affiliated with the FMCSA or the U.S. Department of Transportation, and we don't give legal advice. We guide you through the process and check your paperwork; the filing and the decisions are yours.
